As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate cost estimates for construction projects. You'll work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders to ensure all aspects of the job are considered, and quotes are competitive and profitable. Location: Lydd, your own transport is required due to the location of our client


Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm


Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOE

Your role as an Estimator will be to:



  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, taking into account materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to create comprehensive quote estimates.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Supervisors, Draughtsmen, and other team members to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.

  • Assess project risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate potential cost overruns.

  • Review and validate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

  • Maintain and update cost databases and records of past project performances.

  • Participate in bid reviews and presentations, providing clear and concise explanations of cost estimates.

  • Monitor and track project costs during execution to ensure adherence to budgets and identify any variances.


What you'll need:



  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry or similar.

  • Strong understanding of projects and related cost factors.

  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
