Our client, a leading fashion retailer, is looking for a Junior Merchandiser to join their dynamic team. With a collaborative work environment this is an excellent opportunity to take the next step in your merchandising career!


As a Junior Merchandiser, you will play a vital role in the planning and trading activities of the department. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the brand planning process and work closely with the buying teams to achieve sales and margin targets. Additionally, you will proactively manage and control departments to optimise monthly and seasonal KPIs, minimising risks and maximising opportunities.


Responsibilities:



  • Collaborate with the Senior Merchandiser to develop full year planning and reforecasting strategies based on historical analysis and the company's strategic goals.

  • Submit monthly sales, stock, and markdown forecasts to support department targets.

  • Manage intake flow into the business to achieve monthly forecasts and drive sales.

  • Review and present in-season stock opportunities and risks to the Senior Merchandiser.

  • Work with the Upload Planners to ensure adequate upload levels aligned with sales budgets.

  • Provide analytical analysis on KPIs and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.

  • Support and coach direct reports, ensuring they meet and exceed the requirements of the role.

  • Monitor and review performance, identifying individuals ready for promotion or requiring improvement plans.

  • Collaborate with the HR Department to take appropriate corrective action when necessary.




Required Skills and Qualifications:



  • Extensive fashion retail merchandising experience, preferably with online and branded experience.

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and computer skills.

  • A track record of creating a positive impact on business through merchandising strategy.

  • Good judgement and decision-making skills.

  • Confidence in suggesting calculated risks.

  • Strong customer awareness and understanding.

  • Passionate about fashion, with a strong market and brand awareness.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Exceptional organisation and efficiency.

  • Ability to meet stringent deadlines and excellent time management skills.

  • Proactive and innovative, with the ability to contribute ideas and constantly improve processes.
