We're looking for a passionate and experienced Footwear Buyer to join our client's team. This could be the perfect opportunity for you to showcase your skills and contribute to a team that values innovation and passion.


As the Footwear Buyer, your main responsibility will be to source, develop, and buy a commercial and balanced range of Fashion footwear. By closely following the company's sales targets, margin goals, price architecture, and seasonal timing, you will ensure that the range consistently achieves sales and profit growth. Maximise commercial opportunities and minimise risks by constantly reviewing performance and trends, reacting and adapting accordingly.


Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with the design team to develop the best commercial range for our target market. It will be essential to maintain consistency with our brand and meet the needs of our customers. Managing supplier performances will also be a significant aspect, striving to improve quality and seize costing opportunities.


As our ideal candidate, you possess a thorough technical knowledge of footwear and are always on top of emerging trends. Your imaginative thinking and ability to generate new ideas will set you apart. Excellent management and communication skills are vital, alongside the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including management, suppliers, technologists, and colleagues. Your negotiation skills will be put to use to secure mutually beneficial outcomes while maintaining the integrity of the brand.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Deliver a balanced commercial range, reflecting our brand's integrity and driving sales and profit growth

  • Maximise commercial opportunities and minimise risk by reviewing performance and trends

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop a range that fulfils customer needs and aligns with our brand

  • Manage supplier performances, improving quality and exploring costing opportunities

  • Stay updated on emerging trends and think imaginatively to generate new ideas

  • Ensure all operating standards are adhered to and guide team members to achieve high performance

  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders through confident and effective communication

  • Utilise negotiation skills to secure mutually beneficial outcomes while upholding the integrity of the brand


Qualifications and Experience:



  • Thorough technical knowledge of footwear

  • Ability to identify commercially viable products

  • Imagination and creativity in generating new ideas for business benefit

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • High commercial awareness

  • Excellent time management skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
